His Excellency Kitoko GATA recently participated in a high-level meeting at the Ford Foundation in New York, as part of the high-level side event of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) titled 'Ensuring Collective Action for Human Rights and Justice in Sudan 🇸🇩.'
This event, organized by the International Criminal Court (ICC), was sponsored by the missions of Canada, the United States, the Gambia, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
The meeting saw the presence of numerous influential figures, including Ms. Linda Greenfield, the U.S. Ambassador, and the Prime Minister of Norway, Niemat Ahmadi. The founder of Darfur Women Action, Alice Nderitu, was also in attendance, along with Karim A.A. Khan KC, the Chief Prosecutor of the ICC. The event was moderated by Ms. Clooney.
One of the highlights of the event was the significant contribution of Ms. Amad Niemat, who brought important insights to the ongoing discussion. This high-level meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss human rights and justice in Sudan and mobilize international support for these crucial issues.
